Description:

ENTEROSGEL® is an oral intestinal adsorbent based on organic mineral. It works in the gut physically binding to toxic and harmful substances (e.g. bacterial toxins) and removing them from the gut, reducing stool frequency and duration of diarrhoea.
As a legal requirement, we must determine the medicine we supply to you is appropriate for your personal use. When purchasing any medicinal product, you are agreeing to use the medicine as per the manufacturer’s patient information leaflet. You also agree to follow any important advice in the listing and answer any questions if contacted via phone by our pharmacy team.

How to use the product:

Children 1-6 years old : 1 teaspoon diluted in 50-100ml of water 3 times a day.
For children 7-14 years old: old 2 teaspoons diluted in 50-100ml of water 3 times a day.
For children 15+ and adults: 1 – 1.5 table spoon diluted in 200ml of water 3 times a day.
• Take ENTEROSGEL® treatment 2 hours before or after a meal and taking oral medications.
• Duration of treatment with ENTEROSGEL® is 3–5 days for acute diarrhoea and up to 21 days for chronic IBS diarrhoea diagnosed by a doctor.
• Dilute the dose in water of room temperature prior to its administration.
• Use sachet immediately after opening. Dilute the content of a sachet in water.

Ingredients:

70% Polymethylsiloxane (Methylsilisic Acid) and 30% Purified water.
Shake the tube well before use, dilute the recommended dose in 100 ml of water or other liquid and drink 1-2 hours before or after a meal.
ENTEROSGEL® is based on organic mineral: 70% polymethylsiloxane polyhydrate, 30% purified water.
• Shake the tube well before opening and each use.
• When squeezing ENTEROSGEL® out of the tube or a sachet some amount of liquid may appear.
• Close the lid of the tube tightly after opening and after each use to avoid drying and to prevent microbial contamination.
• Use tube within 30 days after opening.

Side effects:

The most common side effect reported was feeling sick (nausea) which was reported by 8 patients out of 214 (4%) in the Enterosgel group and 8 patients out of 213 in the placebo group (4%). The next most common side effects were bloating reported by 3% of patients in the Enterosgel group and 1% of placebo patients.

Hazards and cautions:

Do not take ENTEROSGEL®:
If you are currently using modified-release orally administrated medications.
If you have intestinal atony (severe constipation due to bowel obstruction). intestinal blockage, or intolerance based on prior use of ENTEROSGEL®.
If there is fever, blood in your stools, signs of dehydration,.six or more episodes of diarrhoea in the last 24 hours, diarrhoea and vomiting at the same time, or a severe or continuous stomach ache, seek medical advice as soon as possible, especially in children. ENTEROSGEL® can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
