Optrex Bacterial Conjunctivitis Eye Ointment helps to treat bacterial infections that affect the outer surface of the eye. It contains an effective antibiotic called Chloramphenicol which clears up the infection and provides relief from irritation and discomfort caused by bacterial conjunctivitis.

Directions:
Ensure that your hands have been washed and dried thoroughly before use and check the tube seal is not broken before first use.
Remove the cap and take special care that the nozzle of the tube does not touch your eye, the skin around your eye or your fingers.
Use a mirror to help you clearly see where you are placing the ointment.
Place the nozzle of the tube close to your eye and gently pull the lower eyelid downwards and look up.
Squeeze the tube gently and apply about 1 cm of the ointment to the space between the lower eyelid and the eye. Close the eye for a moment.
Repeat in the other eye if needed. Replace the cap securely after use.
Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
For topical administration to the eye only.
For the treatment of acute bacterial conjunctivits.
Dose for adults, children aged 2 years and over: A small amount of ointment in the affected eye 3-4 times daily for 5 days
Do not use this ointment if you are allergic to chloramphenicol or anything else in the ointment.
If you do not get better within 48 hours talk to a doctor.
If your eyes get worse see a doctor straight away.
After 5 days, throw away any ointment left.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Storage:
Do not store above 25ºC.
