Description:

Peppermint oil is used to relieve IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) symptoms, such as trapped wind, bloating, cramping and pain. The active ingredient in this medicine is a natural oil extracted from the peppermint plant. Pepperminn contains 0.2ml (182 mg) of concentrated peppermint oil, a natural antispasmodic, that gently relieves the pain at the source. The soft gel capsules naturally help you to treat the symptoms of the irritable bowel syndrome.

How to use the product:

Take one capsule Three times a day, preferably before food with a small amount of water or as directed by your health professional.
If your symptoms are more severe take Two capsules Three times a day after consulting your health professional.
Each Enteric Coated capsule contains 0.2ml Peppermint oil.

Ingredients:

Active Ingredient: 0.2 ml naturally occurring peppermint oil from the peppermint plant.
Other Ingredients: Capsule Shell (Gelatin, Sorbitol (E420), Glycerol, Titanium Dioxide (E171), Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin (E141)), Capsule Coating (Methacrylic Acid-Ethyl Acrylate-Copolymer (1:1), Polysorbate 80, Sodium Laurilsulfate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerolmonostearate.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, Pepperminn can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
  • Heartburn may occur.

If you develop this symptom, stop taking the capsules and see your doctor.

Rarely, allergic reactions to Pepperminn have been reported, including: 
  • Skin rashes .
  • Slow heartbeat .
  • Trembling .
  • Unsteadiness.
  • These may also occur if Pepperminn is taken with alcohol.

Hazards and cautions:

  • Do not take Pepperminn Capsule if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Do not break, chew or crush the capsule.
  • Avoid taking the capsule immediately after food.
  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
  • Do not use Pepperminn after the expiry date (‘EXP’) which is printed on the pack.
  • Store Pepperminn at room temperature (not above 25°C) in the original package to protect from light.
  • Taking with food or drink Take Pepperminn preferably before food, with a little liquid.
  • Do not take Pepperminn immediately after food.
  • Skin rash, slow heartbeat, or trembling and unsteadiness are rare allergic reactions which may occur when Pepperminn is taken with alcohol .

Pregnancy and breastfeeding : 

  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant,  are thinking of becoming pregnant, before taking Pepperminn.

Do not take Pepperminn if you are:

  • Allergic to peppermint oil or to any of the other ingredients in Pepperminn .
  • Allergic to aspirin or aspirin-like medicines.

Take special care with Pepperminn if you: 

  • Are aged 40 years or over, and it is some time since your last attack notice your symptoms have changed .
  • Have passed blood from the bowel .
  • Have suffered abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge .
  • Have severe constipation .
  • Have difficulty or pain in passing urine .
  • Are suffering from nausea or vomiting .
  • Have lost your appetite, or lost weight .
  • Are pale and tired .
  • Have recently had fever .
  • Are pregnant or possibly pregnant .
  • Have recently travelled abroad If any of the above applies to you, please check with your pharmacist before taking Pepperminn.
  • If you suffer from pre-existing heartburn, the symptoms may worsen.
  • Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
  • Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required.
  • These measures will help to protect the environment.

Storage instructions:

Please store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach and sight of children.
