Description
Utovlan includes norethisterone, a synthetic hormone. It’s most commonly used to postpone periods, but it can also be used to address other issues including breast cancer and uncomfortable periods. The active component is Norethisterone 5mg, a generic medication.
Utovlan works by maintaining high progesterone levels. As a result, your uterine lining stops shedding and your menstruation is delayed. Utovlan is a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone, which means it mimics progesterone’s effects.
Utovlan is neither a contraceptive nor a pregnancy preventative. If you do not want to become pregnant, it is critical that you continue to use contraceptive techniques. If you’re already on the combination contraceptive pill, you shouldn’t use Utovlan. It is, however, possible to take it at the same time as the small pill.
Utovlan 5mg is available in 30- or 60-tablet packs. Utovlan is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.
